The reading room of the Archives of the Republic of Slovenia at Zvezdarska 1 in Ljubljana will from September 2, 2024 be open Monday to Friday from 8 am to 2 pm due to the relocation of our archival and library holdings. During this period, some archival fonds and collections, as well as library materials, will be unavailable.

Starting September 2, 2024, the Archives of RS begins its three-decade-long journey to a much-anticipated relocation to our new archival building in the renovated and reconstructed former barracks at Poljanska Street 40 in Ljubljana. The relocation of archival records, the library, and staff from Gruber’s Palace to our new archival building is expected to be completed by the end of October. During this time, the normal course of our archival services will be interrupted. Archival fonds and collections that are being moved to or from Poljanska Street, and are listed below, will not be made available for use in the reading room until the relocation is completed, except those that have already been digitized.

Archival reading room is expected to be closed only for a short period of time (up to five days in October). Notice of this closure will be posted on the Archive's website.

We kindly ask for your understanding and suggest that you regularly check the Archive's website for the updates on the relocation.
