The two underlined the marked unity in the positions of the two countries on key foreign policy issues, such as the situation in Gaza and the wider Middle East. Turkey believes that countries like Slovenia are saving the reputation of the European Union in the Middle East. Both sides are keen to further strengthen their already strong bilateral relations. The two sides also touched on the issue of Turkey's EU membership negotiations, which have been stalled for a long time.
