State Secretary Štucin at political consultations in Bucharest

As part of his visit to Bucharest, State Secretary Marko Štucin held political consultations with the State Secretary for European Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania, Clara Staicu. The talks focused on strengthening bilateral relations and exchanging views on current European, regional and international issues.

State secretaries Štucin and Staicu expressed their commitment to further deepening the friendly ties, positive relations and cooperation between Slovenia and Romania, two like-minded EU Member States, NATO allies and staunch supporters of multilateralism. The two officials exchanged views on current foreign policy issues, focusing on developments in the Western Balkans, opportunities for joint cooperation and support for EU candidate countries, as well as EU reform in the light of enlargement.

They also exchanged views on the new institutional cycle following the European elections, the single market, EU competitiveness and the Schengen Area.

As part of the consultations in Bucharest, State Secretary Štucin also met with the State Secretary for Strategic Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ana Tinca, with whom he exchanged views on the situation in the Eastern Partnership countries.
