State Secretary Gabrič receives delegation from the Polish-Slovenian Parliamentary Group for talks
The delegation is on an official visit to Slovenia at the invitation of the Secretary of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with Poland in the Slovenian National Assembly. The Polish delegation was led by the President of the Parliamentary Group, Paweł Jabłoński.
Both parties reaffirmed the positive relations between Slovenia and Poland and emphasised the importance of further strengthening cooperation in the political and economic spheres. They expressed their satisfaction with the successful collaboration between the two countries in regional initiatives and within the European Union, NATO, the United Nations and other international organisations.
A significant part of the discussions centred on current international challenges and security issues, particularly in light of the situation in Ukraine. State Secretary Gabrič and her Polish guest strongly condemned Russia's aggression against Ukraine. The State Secretary stressed that talks on ending the war could not occur without Ukraine's involvement, assuring that Slovenia would continue to provide Ukraine with all necessary political, humanitarian and other assistance to the best of its ability.
At the end of the meeting, both sides addressed EU enlargement, which they both support. State Secretary Gabrič assured Poland of Slovenia's support in this area, particularly during the Polish Presidency of the EU Council in the first half of 2025.
