After the signing, the Prime Minister gave the following statement to the media: "Today, on this historic day, the Government and social partners managed to conclude an agreement on the salary system in the public sector. This agreement will improve the financial situation of public employees while setting the foundations for further enhancing the quality of work in the public sector."

The Prime Minister thanked everyone who had contributed to today’s signing – trade union representatives and the Government negotiation team led by the Minister of Finance, Klemen Boštjančič, and his Deputy, Mojca Ramšak. "They did a good job, which is often not visible to the public. Yet negotiations continued day and night, always in a respectful dialogue. When the dialogue between two opposing sides remains respectful, nothing is impossible. I believe that this dialogue will continue and bring sustainable results in the long term," said the Prime Minister.

The Prime Minister went on to highlight the most important aspects of the signed agreement. "Today’s signing will have truly long-term effects. As of today, no public employee will be paid less than the minimum wage, and salaries will be partly adjusted for inflation. This will ensure that decent salaries are not only paid out once but are maintained over time," said Prime Minister Golob. He concluded that it was also important to take into consideration the trade unions’ recommendations, namely making the public sector more appealing.
