EU funding for subtitling TV programmes
As part of the EU co-funded project, Radio-Television Slovenia will implement automatic subtitling into the production process by thus ensuring the availability of subtitled content on various multimedia platforms and via TV signals. Ensuring equal access to media content is key to achieving an inclusive and accessible society for all social groups, including the deaf and hard-of-hearing population. EU funding will thus enable people with disabilities to exercise their right to information and their right to participate in the cultural life of society, resulting in inclusion and a better quality of life.
The project Automatic subtitling of TV programmes is implemented under Slovenia’s EU Cohesion Policy Programme 2021-2027, priority Digital connectivity and pursues the specific objective Reaping the benefits of digitalisation for citizens, companies, research organisations and public authorities.
The European Regional Development Fund will contribute half of the funding for the call for proposals worth 1,204,411.76 euros, namely 630,000 euros.
