Political consultations were held with the aim of building excellent relations between the two countries, both bilaterally and multilaterally. In 2024, Slovenia and Algeria have opened resident embassies in Algiers and Ljubljana respectively, which will contribute to strengthening relations in a number of areas.

The two sides discussed ways to develop economic relations, cooperation on migration and Algeria's relations with the EU. In particular, the two countries are linked by cooperation in the context of non-permanent membership of the UN Security Council for the 2024-2025 term and by the search for solutions to the Middle East crisis.
