Minister Fajon underlined Slovenia's support for Osvald’s candidacy for the 2026–2029 term. Slovenian diplomacy is actively promoting this candidacy, as it also contributes to the visibility of our country.

"Our diplomacy pays great attention to the election and appointment of Slovenian representatives to various positions in international organisations. We are working towards achieving greater representation in key positions within these organisations," the Slovenian Minister added.

Founded in Switzerland in 1874, the UPU is the second oldest international organisation and has been a UN specialised agency since 1948. Its mission is to coordinate the postal policies and systems among its 192 member countries. It brings together more than 700,000 post offices from around the world and ensures one of the most extensive networks in the world.
