Open Positions at the Slovenian Embassy in Copenhagen

The Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Copenhagen is seeking to recruit two professionals for the following positions:

1. Public Diplomacy Coordinator
2. Communication Officer and Events Coordinator

Both roles are based at the Embassy in Copenhagen but will involve engagement across Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Norway, and Iceland. These positions play a vital role in promoting Slovenian culture, diplomacy, and engagement in the Nordic region. Below are details for each position, including responsibilities and qualifications required.

Position 1: Public Diplomacy Coordinator

The Public Diplomacy Coordinator will focus on cultural promotion, project management, and communication initiatives across the Nordic countries. The successful candidate will work closely with the Embassy and relevant Slovenian institutions to promote Slovenian arts, culture, and diplomatic engagement.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead project management efforts for cultural and communication initiatives, including strategic planning, execution, and evaluation.
  • Monitor and report on cultural, communication, and project management activities across the Nordic region.
  • Work with Slovenian cultural institutions to enhance opportunities for artists in the Nordic region.
  • Develop relationships with cultural organizations and broker partnerships between Slovenian and Nordic artists, institutions, venues, and festivals.
  • Support and promote Slovenian studies, including the Slovenian language, across the Nordic countries.
  • Work with other European embassies and cultural institutions to situate Slovenian culture in the European context.
  • Assist and advise on the promotion of Slovenian culture internationally.
  • Prepare and execute events and projects at the Embassy premises and other locations (receptions, thematic events, conferences).
  • Gather data and prepare reports in the public policy areas across all five Nordic countries.
  • Prepare project documentation and management (applications, reporting, finances).
  • Replace the administrative consular officer when needed.
  • Prepare texts in Slovenian language for the purpose of communicating with various audiences in diverse channels (support communication officer)
  • Daily, weekly, and monthly reporting on thematic areas.

 Essential Requirements:

  • Fluency in English and Slovenian (knowledge of Nordic languages is an advantage).
  • A third-level qualification in a relevant field or at least 3 years of experience in arts, culture, project management, or communication OR relevant professional experience.
  • Strong networking, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Experience in project management and event coordination.
  • Familiarity with social media and communication strategies.
  • Legal right to live and work in Denmark.

Position 2: Communication Officer and Events Coordinator

The Communication Officer and Events Coordinator will focus on media engagement, social media management, promotion of tourism and business, and the coordination of Embassy events.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement communication plans and media strategies.
  • Manage the Embassy’s social media channels and website content (in English and Nordic languages).
  • Monitor Danish and other Nordic print, TV, electronic, and audio media.
  • Highlight and analyze newsworthy items and trends relevant to Slovenia.
  • Coordinate with journalists and media contacts across the Nordic region.
  • Organize and execute promotional activities, fairs, and public events.
  • Coordinate tourism and business promotional activities, including fairs and events.
  • Prepare reports on public policy developments in the Nordic countries.
  • Maintain and develop appropriate material for the Embassy's website and social media channels.
  • Prepare and execute events and projects at the Embassy premises and residence, as well as external venues.
  • Ensure promotional materials align with 'I Feel Slovenia' branding or other Slovenian brand identities.
  • Direct contact and collaboration with institutions in Nordic countries.
  • Responsibility for the Embassy's information material and its distribution.
  • Assist with the administrative tasks at the embassy.

Essential Requirements:

  • Fluency in English and Danish (knowledge of other Nordic languages is an advantage).
  • A third-level qualification in communication, media, or event management OR relevant professional experience.
  • Strong IT skills and familiarity with social media management.
  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills.
  • Experience in event planning and media relations.
  • Expertise with social media and communication strategies.
  • Legal right to live and work in Denmark.
