EU funding for redeveloping part of Koper
As part of the EU co-funded project, the Urban Municipality of Koper will provide accessible and attractive green urban infrastructure in the area of the Sports and Recreation Centre (SRC) Bonifika, taking into account the principle of using nature-based solutions. Specifically, it will improve the drainage system in the Semedla Bonifika area, build outdoor sports areas and a connecting path, contributing to 1.4 hectares of renovated outdoor areas. This will create a space for urban life in Koper, designed for socialising, relaxation and recreation, which will contribute positively to promoting social interaction and intergenerational and intercultural integration for better social inclusion.
The project Improving the quality and accessibility of the green urban infrastructure in the Bonifica SRC area is implemented under Slovenia’s EU Cohesion Policy Programme 2021-2027, priority Green transformation for climate neutrality, and pursues the specific objective Enhancing protection and conservation of nature, biodiversity and green infrastructure, including in urban areas, and reducing all forms of pollution.
The European Regional Development Fund will contribute 319,881.10 euros for the project worth 1,260,803.49 euros.
