EU funding for traffic safety in Murska Sobota
As part of the EU co-financed project, the Urban Municipality of Murska Sobota is building a two-way cycle lane on one side of the road in the length of 1,145 metres. When the works are completed, the section of road from the Murska Sobota School of Economics to the Noršinci-Rakičan crossroads will connect the city of Murska Sobota, especially the northern commercial and industrial part, with the settlements of Noršinci and Rakičan and other settlements in and outside the municipality by means of a new cycle lane. The investment will contribute to the development of sustainable mobility and will increase road safety for the weakest road users in the municipality.
The ITI MO MS Noršinska project is implemented under Slovenia’s Cohesion Policy Programme 2021-2027, under the priority Sustainable mobility and pursues the specific objective Sustainable urban mobility.
The project, worth 1,531,216.07 euros, is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) with the ERDF contribution standing at 595,639.63 euros.
