EU funding for youth career centres+

As part of the call that will be co-financed by the European Union, two consortia of youth career centres+ will be established, one in each of the two cohesion regions. The centres will aim to ensure that further branch offices are set up to enhance the consortium of project partners. These offices will facilitate access to career orientation services for school-age youth, i.e. children and teens in the 6-19 age group, and dropouts, i.e. NEETs aged 15-29 years. Individuals from the two target groups will benefit from a range of information and guidance services focusing especially on shortage occupations, jobs and skills of the future to help them make informed and tailored career choices. A range of various activities will allow them to discover their interests, passions and skills. By exploring different industries, job roles, and career paths, they will gather valuable information that will empower them and improve their employment prospects. The consortia of youth career centres will thus focus on providing the target group with expert support in creating and choosing the right career path and helping them understand the needs and specificities of the local labour market landscape, especially via promotion of connections between local schools and employers.

The Call for proposals for the co-financing of projects of youth career centres+ will be implemented in the scope of Slovenia’s EU Cohesion Policy Programme 2021-2027 under priority Skills and a responsive labour market. It will pursue specific objective Improving the quality, inclusiveness, effectiveness and labour market relevance of education and training systems including through validation of non-formal and informal learning, to support acquisition of key competences including entrepreneurial and digital skills, and by promoting the introduction of dual-training systems and apprenticeships.   

The call will make 8 million euros available; over 5 million euros will come from the European Social Fund Plus. 

The call will contribute to the goals of Slovenia's EU Cohesion Policy Programme 2021-2027. It will be published by the Ministry of Labour, Family, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia on 4 April 2025.
