Moody's affirms Slovenia's credit rating

Yesterday, Moody's Ratings (Moody's) affirmed Slovenia's credit rating of A3 with a positive outlook. Slovenia thus continues to enjoy the confidence of the rating agencies, which is particularly important in the current uncertain environment.

The agency cited the country's open economy, higher income levels compared to its peers, and a diversified industrial base as key reasons for maintaining the credit rating. The credit rating also reflects Slovenia's solid institutional framework, which includes sound macroeconomic management with prudent budgetary policies and a long-term-oriented debt management strategy.

The positive outlook reflects an increasing likelihood of a sustained improvement in Slovenia's fiscal position. This outlook is further supported by the proposed pension reform, which aims to ensure the long-term sustainability of the pension system. Slovenia's credit rating could be upgraded in the near future if it keeps reducing its debt successfully and adopts the proposed pension reform.
