  • Commissioner Fitto, Commissioner Kos and Minister Jevšek attend the Interreg GO! event

    On 27 and 28 March 2025, the border cities of Gorizia and Nova Gorica, which hold the title of European Capital of Culture this year, hosted the Interreg GO! event, which was opened by keynote speakers Raffaele Fitto, Executive Vice-President of the European Commission for Cohesion and Reform, Marta Kos, European Commissioner for Enlargement, and Aleksander Jevšek, Minister of Cohesion and Regional Development.

    The Ministry of Cohesion and Regional Development has approved EU funding for the project Model of early vocational and occupational rehabilitation on the process of returning to work in terms of health (ZPZR-2).

    The Ministry of Cohesion and Regional Development has approved EU funding for the Libertas cultural hub project.

  • Government approves measures to improve 2021-2027 EU funds absorption

    The Government of the Republic of Slovenia has approved measures to improve the absorption of the funds available under Slovenia’s EU Cohesion Policy Programme 2021-2027. The Government also approved amendments to the Programme and issued a supplemented decree regarding Cohesion Policy implementation. The draft measures were prepared by the Ministry of Cohesion and Regional Development, together with the other line ministries.

    The Ministry of Cohesion and Regional Development has approved EU funding for the project Integrated improvement of the Savska cesta Road.

  • EU funding for sustainable urban development

    The Ministry of Cohesion and Regional Development has approved EU funding for the projects Development of Slovenj Gradec Sports Park, Urban Culture Centre and Langer Villa. The projects that follow urban strategies of respective urban municipalities will receive EUR 9.5 million from the European Regional Development Fund.

  • Evropska sredstva za javni razpis Spodbujanje izvajanja raziskovalno-razvojnih programov

    The Ministry of Cohesion and Regional Development has approved EU funding for the call for proposals Promotion of R&D programmes (TRL 3-6). The call seeks to strengthen collaboration between the research sector and businesses, while fostering innovation in Slovenia. The call is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund, its contribution standing at over EUR 31 million.

  • EU funding for the network of multi-purpose Roma centres

    The Ministry of Cohesion and Regional Development has approved EU funding for the call for proposals that aims to co-finance the network of multi-purpose Roma centres. The call makes a total of EUR 5.5 million available, with over EUR 4.4 million coming from the European Social Fund Plus.

    Minister Dr Aleksander Jevšek held his first meeting with the newly appointed Commissioner for Cohesion and Reform, Raffaele Fitto. The meeting, which took place in Brussels, focused on the future of Cohesion Policy and measures to improve EU funds absorption.

    At the launch event of the Austrian-Lithuanian co-chairmanship of the EU Strategy for the Alpine Region (EUSALP) in Vaduz, State Secretary at the Ministry of Cohesion and Regional Development mag. Marko Koprivc presented the Alpine region's key challenges, underlining the importance of further cross-border cooperation and finding joint solutions to these challenges.

  • Redevelopment of the Transalpina – Europe Square, a strategic project under Slovenia’s Cohesion Policy Programme

    On Thursday, 30 January 2025, the newly redeveloped Transalpina – Europe Square, an iconic meeting point at the intersection of two cities and two countries, was opened in the border area of Nova Gorica and Gorizia. At a press conference held on the occasion, Minister Aleksander Jevšek congratulated the European Association of Territorial Cooperation Gorizia and the two municipalities of Nova Gorica and Gorizia for their impressive and productive efforts in bringing the project to life.

  • EU funding for strengthening cooperatives, social economy, and social entrepreneurship

    The Ministry of Cohesion and Regional Development has approved EU funding for the Call for proposals for promoting projects on cooperatives and social economy and kicking off social entrepreneurship. The European Regional Development Fund supports the call with 3 million euros.

  • Regions for the future

    The Slovenian Regional Development Fund (SRDF) organised the event “Regions for the Future” with a round table on developing the economy, handicrafts and crafts in the development of all Slovenian regions. The event took place at the Ribnica Handicraft Centre. In his opening address, Minister Jevšek spoke about the planned development incentives for border problem areas, the agreements for the development of regions and the Promotion of Balanced Regional Development Act.

  • EU funding for employment of special-needs youth

    The Ministry of Cohesion and Regional Development has approved EU funding for the Call for proposals to co-finance Youth Transition+ projects.

  • Minister Jevšek and Tržič Mayor inaugurate business incubator in Tržič

    Minister Aleksander Jevšek and Mayor of the Municipality of Tržič Peter Miklič officially opened a new business incubator in Tržič. The opening ceremony brought together the representatives of local business community, local officials, and local residents. At the round table following the event, Minister Jevšek highlighted that this addition would give the local economy a new impetus, creating jobs and contributing to the development of local community.

    The Ministry of Cohesion and Regional Development has approved EU funding for the project Upgrade of the railway line state border – Dobova – Zidani Most – phase one: section state border – Dobova – Sevnica: stage two (the Sevnica area).
