Fajon in Jordan: Slovenia remains firmly committed to supporting UNRWA
On the second day of her visit to Jordan, Foreign Minister Tanja Fajon was granted an audience with His Majesty King Abdullah II bin al-Hussein of Jordan. She also met with the Commissioner-General of the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) in Jordan, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Jordanian Hashemite Charity Organisation, and representatives of UN agencies in Amman, and visited a refugee camp.

Minister Fajon starts her tour of the Middle East with a visit to Jordan
Beginning in Amman, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Tanja Fajon has set off on a tour of the Middle East, where she will visit Jordan, Lebanon and Syria. She met with Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi to discuss the situation in the region and bilateral cooperation between Slovenia and Jordan.

Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Tanja Fajon participated in the Meeting of NATO Ministers of Foreign Affairs in Brussels. The discussions focused on Ukraine and the Middle East, as well as on key strategic priorities as NATO marks its 75th anniversary this year. The Ministers of Foreign Affairs met and held their first consultations with the new Secretary General, Mark Rutte.

Slovenia and Jordan call for an immediate ceasefire in the Middle East
Minister Tanja Fajon hosted the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Jordan, Ayman Safadi, whom she has met on several occasions, most recently in Amman in November 2023. They signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Political Cooperation between the Foreign Ministries of the two countries and devoted a large part of their talks to the current situation in the Middle East.

First official visit of Slovenian Foreign Minister in Jordan in almost two decades
Today, Dr Miro Cerar is starting an official visit to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. This is the first visit of a Slovenian Foreign Minister to this country in almost twenty years. The visit is aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation with an emphasis on deepening political and economic ties.

State Secretary Dobran Božič addressed participants in the Slovenian–Jordanian Business Forum held at the Grand Hotel Union today. The Forum seeks to present opportunities for cooperation in various business areas and for networking between Slovenian and Jordanian companies. The ten-strong business delegation of the Jordan Europe Business Association is composed of representatives of companies engaged in defence, security, aviation, electrical appliances, the food industry, smart energy solutions, construction materials and equipment, the cosmetics industry and spa tourism.
