Border controls with Croatia and Hungary extended until 21 December 2024
The temporary reintroduction of controls at Slovenia's internal borders with Croatia and Hungary have been extended for another six months, up to and including 21 December 2024. Controls will continue to be carried out in such a way as to minimise the negative impact on travellers, the environment, the economy and the local border population.

Slovenia to extend control at Croatian and Hungarian borders by six months
In a media statement, Minister of the Interior Boštjan Poklukar presented Slovenia's decision to extend temporary control at the internal borders with Croatia and Hungary by six months.

Internal border checks extended until June 2024
The temporary border controls on Slovenia’s internal borders with Croatia and Hungary will continue for another six months, from 22 December 2023 until 22 June 2024. The internal border checks are being extended under Article 25 of the Schengen Borders Code.

Border controls extended until 21 December, then for another six months
The temporary reintroduction of controls at the internal borders with Croatia and Hungary has been extended for 12 days, until 21 December 2023. Afterwards, the measure is due to be prolonged for another six months.

Border controls extended until 9 December, on 22 December controls for six months
Temporary reintroduction of internal border controls is extended by 20 days, until 9 December 2023 (under Article 28 of the Schengen Borders Code). On 22 December, six-month internal border controls, as provided for in Article 25 of the Schengen Borders Code, will be introduced.

Internal borders control extended until 19 November 2023
Temporarily reintroduced controls at the internal borders with Croatia and Hungary initially introduced on 21 October 2023 will remain in force for 20 more days until 19 November 2023.

Crossing the border with the neighbouring countries
Today, the Minister of the Interior, Boštjan Poklukar, signed the Order determining the border crossing points with the Republic of Croatia and the Republic of Hungary at which border crossings are allowed during the period of the temporary reintroduction of border controls.

Slovenia to reintroduce checks at borders with Croatia and Hungary on Saturday
The Slovenian government has issued an ordinance temporarily reintroducing controls at the internal borders with Croatia and Hungary as of Saturday, 21 October 2023, until 30 October 2023.
