  • Advancing Higher Education Cooperation in the Mediterranean

    The representatives of the ministries responsible for higher education from Italy, Spain, Greece, France, Malta, Cyprus, Portugal, Croatia and Slovenia, a representative of the Union for the Mediterranean and a representative of the European Commission attended a ministerial meeting at Brdo pri Kranju. This was the first event since Slovenia assumed the one-year Presidency of MED9, a group of EU Member States in the Mediterranean.

  • For the first time Slovenia holds the presidency of the informal group of the EU Mediterranean countries - MED9

    During its presidency of MED9, Slovenia will focus on strengthening Europe's resilience and competitiveness, youth empowerment and capacity-building in higher education, digitalisation and culture as well as the EU enlargement and other foreign policy issues. A number of events will be organised during the Presidency, which you can follow on the dedicated MED9 website.

  • MED9 leaders urge peace in the Middle East

    Prime Minister Robert Golob today attended a summit of the Mediterranean EU countries, MED9, in Paphos, Cyprus. The summit was also attended by the King of Jordan, Abdullah II, and the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen.

  • State Secretary Štucin at the MED9 Meeting in Cyprus

    Marko Štucin, State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, participated in the Meeting of Ministers and State Secretaries for EU Affairs of the nine Mediterranean countries of the European Union, known as the MED9, held in Nicosia, Cyprus.

  • Prime Minister Golob and Portuguese Prime Minister Montenegro on Slovenia's initiative to host MED9 meeting

    The Prime Minister, Robert Golob, and his delegation met today with the Prime Minister of the Portuguese Republic, Luís Montenegro. This is the first meeting between the leaders of the two countries since the Portuguese elections in March this year.
