First treetop trail in Slovenia opens at Rogla
Visitors will be able to get a bird’s-eye view of the forest and gain a more accurate idea of the interesting life of the forest denizens. The trail offers several activities that broaden one’s knowledge of the Pohorje environment and environmental protection efforts in a fun and interactive manner.
The total length of the trail is 1000 metres. The first part of the promenade is around 560 metres long, and up to 20 metres high. The trail leads to a 35-metre tall tower, inside of which are another 440 metres of trail. The tower also has a slide, which offers a fun way to get back to the trail from the top, and from there the trail leads towards the exit, where visitors can stop at a souvenir shop.
The entire Pohorje Treetop Trail, including the observation tower, is disabled and pushchair accessible and offers a far-reaching 360-degree view.
The project is one of the three finalists in the Snovalec 2019 design competition and is the result of cooperation between the foreign investor Zážitková Akademie, the landowner the Municipality of Zreče, and the Unitur company, the manager of the Rogla mountain sports centre.
