Innovation and Technological Development
Innovation is a key factor in the success of companies. Successful companies make innovation one of their top priorities. Given the pace of change driven by rapid technological development and societal challenges, the role of innovation will only increase in the future. That is why innovation, in combination with tackling societal challenges, will remain at the forefront of the country's industrial policy beyond 2020. Change forces companies to continuously transform, innovate and update their business models.
Investment in research and technological development is one of the keys to economic competitiveness. One of the main sources for companies to access the latest knowledge and to join the most advanced networks and consortia in the field of technological development are the international programmes in which companies can participate.
Digitalisation in Business
Traditional industries are also becoming digital, smart and striving for environmental improvements. Companies must be open to new ideas and change, encourage creativity and innovation from all employees, and reward and implement good ideas. Investing in research, technological development and innovation is therefore a key factor for economic competitiveness.
European Space Agency
The European Space Agency is a world-renowned intergovernmental organisation created in the 1970s to pool the knowledge and resources of individual European countries to develop space technologies. Slovenian companies and research and development institutions have the opportunity to participate in the Agency's space technology projects. Small satellites are among the successful projects of the Slovenian companies that have already taken advantage of this opportunity.
