We take a holistic and inclusive approach to family policy, thus including in it all types of family set-ups and domestic communities of two adults. Prospective spouses are given the possibility to enter into marriage in accordance with their wishes. We respect the plurality of family set-ups and the different needs arising therefrom, the autonomy of the family and the individuality of its members, help ensure children’s rights in the family and in a broader context, and give priority to the protection and quality of life of families and children. We pay special attention to the care of children and their protection and work with concern for their best interests.
