ETCS – European Train Control System

The project encompasses works in the context of the Poljčane-Slovenska Bistrica section to increase the technical (bearing) capacities of the track and improve safety and interoperability.

The purpose of the project is to upgrade the railway line in the Zidani Most-Celje section in the length of 26.2 km.

Preparatory works for the construction of a new track on the Divača-Koper railway line.

Construction of seven tunnels (from T1 to T7), of which 16.671 km of main tubes and 12.712 km of service tubes. The project also encompasses project management that, in addition to internal special-purpose-vehicle costs and engineering, includes the supervision of building works and environmental legislation monitoring.

The project encompassing a feasibility study and project documentation for the construction of the new tunnel tube was a joint application by Austria and Slovenia. The Republic of Slovenia is the project coordinator. The results of the project will be used in the next phase of the modernisation of the Karavanke railway tunnel.

The Action includes elaboration of design documentation for the part of the Ljubljana Hub between the Ljubljana Šiška station, the main Ljubljana Railway Station, the Ljubljana Moste and Ljubljana Zalog station; including tracks between them. A serious bottleneck has been identified in this area, which needs to be eliminated.

The purpose of the project is to improve rail interoperability with technical specifications pertaining to passenger and cargo services in accordance with EU regulations. This will ensure the fulfilment or implementation of TSI standards in the Slovenian railway network.

The aim of European Economic Interest Groupings (EEIG) is to ensure the best and smoothest possible cross-border cooperation on projects that will improve the competitiveness of the European rail sector. Slovenian enterprises and organisations also participate in EEIGs.

The purpose of the project is to repair and modernise the railway section between the Dekani station and the Bivje junction.
