“The European Union has never been as united on Bosnia and Herzegovina as it is today. This is an important message,” said Prime Minister Robert Golob at the European Council. “So far, it looks like there are no real obstacles to the next step, apart from meeting the criteria. The political obstacles, however, are gone,” said Prime Minister Golob. According to him, this means that negotiations can probably start in March. Mr Golob believes that the European Union has never been as united on Bosnia and Herzegovina as it is today.
Ahead of a very important European Council meeting, Prime Minister Golob met with the President of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron. France is one of Slovenia's most important economic partners, and trade between the two countries has intensified over the past year. Slovenia and France will shortly sign their fourth Action Plan under the Strategic Partnership at ministerial level. “Relations between the two countries are excellent, both politically and culturally, but we also expect major steps in economic development. I am looking forward to cooperation in logistics, automotive and aerospace industry and energy, as I know that Slovenia and France have a lot in common,” stressed Prime Minister Golob.
