Slovenia Weekly: Initiatives and recognitions

Prime Minister Robert Golob welcomes the announcement by his colleagues from Spain, Ireland and Norway that they will recognise the State of Palestine on 28 May. He noted that Slovenia had recently launched the procedure to recognise the State of Palestine, in which it had expressed its expectations of the Palestinians and Israel. The Slovenian Government was the first among the signatories of a joint declaration issued on the margins of the European Council (Slovenia, Spain, Ireland and Malta) to start the procedure to recognise the State of Palestine, in which it expressed certain expectations, not conditions, for both sides.

Slovenia has made the annual celebration of World Bee Day an important priority both at home and abroad, where it seeks to promote the importance of bees and other wild pollinators, thereby raising awareness and strengthening action for their conservation. Through the World Bee Day and the Golden Bee Award, Slovenia is working to share knowledge and technology and to consolidate Slovenia's global reputation as a green, healthy, proactive and innovative country. The Golden Bee Award promotes, supports and strengthens the activities, innovation and excellence of both individuals and legal entities that have made particularly significant contributions to the protection of bees and other pollinators, as well as to raising global awareness of their importance.
