Next week in Slovenia, the Bled Strategic Forum will once again bring together a wide range of representatives of states and civil society to address current challenges under the theme "A World of Parallel Realities". The Forum is considered to be Slovenia's main foreign policy event. Every year, at the end of summer, representatives of politics, business and civil society traditionally gather in Bled to discuss current challenges. This year, more than 180 speakers from 48 countries are expected to take part in more than 30 debates, all under the title "A World of Parallel Realities".
This year's event will be special because it will take place at the very time when Slovenia, as a non-permanent member, will take over the presidency of the UN Security Council. In this context, the Bled Strategic Forum also reflects Slovenia's greater responsibility in the international community, a greater broadness or awareness that through its levers of soft power, which is what the Forum actually is, Slovenia can address even the most difficult problems of the international community. The title of this year's Forum reflects the need to find bridges to overcome social and geopolitical divisions.
That sport is also a way of expression, of surpassing limitations, said Slovenian Prime Minister Robert Golob at the opening of the Paralympic Games, when he visited the Slovenian Paralympians in Paris. In his address to the Slovenian Paralympic team, the Prime Minister noted that the Paralympic Games were his first choice for a visit and that he had visited the Olympic Games at the special invitation of President Macron. He also said that greatness lies not in our limitations, but in how we rise above them.
