Slovenia Weekly: Happy 2025!

This year’s final Slovenia Weekly features a report on the first visit to Marta Kos following her appointment as Commissioner for Enlargement. According to Prime Minister Robert Golob, Kos’s appointment to such a prominent position is a great recognition of Slovenia’s standing. Marta Kos being entrusted with such a strategically important position within the European Commission reflects what Slovenia has been striving for over the past two years – firmly establishing our place at the heart of Europe while promoting stability and peace in our immediate neighbourhood, said the Prime Minister during his visit to the European Commissioner.

In his message marking Independence and Unity Day, the Prime Minister stressed that there was much to celebrate and reflect upon with gratitude as the year draws to a close. Fairness, knowledge, solidarity and prudence have prevailed this year in Slovenia, said the Prime Minister. Equipped with these qualities, he believes that Slovenia is ready to succeed again in 2025.

On 1 January 2025, Slovenia will become a full member of the European Space Agency (ESA). With a dynamic and fast-growing space sector, the country strives to achieve its vision: Slovenia – small on Earth, big in space.

Dear readers, happy holidays and we look forward to welcoming you back in 2025!
