Slovenia Weekly: A Look Back Before the Winter Break

The past week was filled with discussions about the safe use of the internet and artificial intelligence, but there was still a strong scent of culture in the air! Last weekend, as we celebrated the Slovenian Cultural Holiday, the official opening of the European Capital of Culture GO! 2025 took place, and new Prešeren Award laureates were announced.

This week, the government approved changes in the education system, revisited the issue of electricity prices, and declared 2026 as the Year of Srečko Kosovel. Next year marks the 100th anniversary of his death, making it the perfect time to rediscover the richness of his poetry.

Today, school holidays begin for some Slovenian students. A great opportunity to relax and embark on new adventures.
