Slovenia Weekly: A united approach

At a special European Council meeting in Brussels, the heads of state or government of the EU Member States, including Prime Minister Robert Golob, discussed how to strengthen European defence and ensure a lasting peace in Ukraine. The Slovenian Prime Minister said that Europe was facing a complex political reality requiring a united approach. "I am confident that today in Europe we will succeed in preserving what makes us the strongest – our unity," he added.

The Government would continue to provide stable funding for Slovenian science, as it was the best investment for the future of society, Prime Minister Golob stressed at a debate organised as part of the March for Science. In his view, science has support and understanding in politics. He went on to reiterate that the Government was well aware of the importance of science and development, hence the first task of the current Government had been to increase funding for science, development and innovation, despite all the crises. He believes that investing in knowledge is the only guarantee of social progress.
