Slovenia Weekly: Slovenia at the forefront of the global innovation landscape

Slovenia has achieved remarkable success in the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking Call for Proposals, securing a high-performance supercomputer with an integrated AI Factory. Among all applicants, Slovenia scored the highest, strengthening its role in the European supercomputing initiative. This achievement places Slovenia among the leading countries in the deployment of a high-performance supercomputer with an AI factory. The Slovenian project received high praise both for the quality of the proposal and for the expertise of the professional team behind it.

"Slovenia has today once again proved that it is a country of knowledge, ambition and scientific excellence. Our success in the European call for proposals for a supercomputer is more than just a technical achievement – it is a clear testament to our ability to compete at the highest level of the global innovation," emphasised Prime Minister Robert Golob. The Prime Minister pointed out that supercomputers play a crucial role in tackling the most complex challenges of our time – from artificial intelligence to drug development, advanced materials and climate simulations. "This project is not just an investment in technology, but in the future of our young people and Slovenia's position as Europe's technological and scientific hub," said the Prime Minister. He reaffirmed the Government's commitment to continued investment in research and development because they believe that knowledge is what places our country on the map of the most advanced European countries.
