The Rural Development Division carries out measures under the rural development programme aimed at improving the competitiveness of the agricultural and forestry sectors and contributing to the development of rural areas.

Within the Operational Programme for the Implementation of the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund in the Republic of Slovenia for the 2014–2020 Period, the Division carries out measures to support the sustainable development of fisheries, fish farming, and the processing and marketing of fishery and fish farming products.
