dr. Marko Korošic

Dr Marko Korošic graduated from the Faculty of Architecture, University of Ljubljana, in 2001 with a thesis titled Zamejski opus arhitekta Eda Mihevca (The Cross-Border Work of Architect Edo Mihevc), which was later published as a book. In November 2009, he obtained his doctoral degree at the same university with a doctoral dissertation titled Slovensko oblikovanje interierjev in opreme v zamejskem prostoru (Slovenian Interior and Furnishing Design in Cross-Border Communities), which was nominated for the Plečnik Award in 2011 and subsequently published as a book under the title Čar prostora (The Magic of Space). He is also the co-author of three architectural monographs.

 

Dr Marko Korošic collaborated with several architectural firms in Trieste and Ljubljana and lectured at the Jurij Vega Technical Industrial Institute in Gorizia. He passed the professional exam to become a licensed architect (License A) and lectured at various architecture symposia, primarily focusing on the work of architect Edo Mihevc.

 

From 2018 until his appointment as the Chief Inspector of the Natural Resources and Spatial Planning Inspectorate of the Republic of Slovenia (17 March 2025), he was Head of the Inter-Municipal Inspectorate and Warden Service for the municipalities of Divača, Hrpelje-Kozina, Komen and Sežana. He spent most of his career as a building inspector before becoming Head of the Regional Unit of the Koper-Nova Gorica Inspectorate.
