The Division performs tasks related to the collection of data on national and municipal roads and traffic count data (that provide the basis for analysing traffic trends and are therefore indispensable in planning). The traffic loads of Slovenian roads have been monitored since 1954 through manual counting and automatic meters.

The Division's IT-related tasks include the maintenance of hardware and software.

Its archives store documents that are predominantly in electronic form (photocopied material) and comprises the currently updated database of documents, the database of investment and technical documentation (projects, studies), research tasks and internal publications.
