The Cybersecurity Division is responsible for implementing the information security policy of the Slovenian Nuclear Safety Administration, maintaining, and improving the information security management system and the cyber-incident response system, which includes procedures for effectively addressing incidents, reporting incidents, business continuity, conducting exercises, trainings, etc. The Division is responsible for raising awareness among its employees about the key elements of cybersecurity.

In the event of a nuclear or radiological event caused by a cyber-attack, the Cybersecurity Division, with members from the SNSA's Cybersecurity expert group, provides expert support to the SNSA's Emergency Response Team. Expert support primarily includes the analysis of potential consequences, threat assessment, review of publicly available vulnerabilities, and connecting key stakeholders, such as nuclear facility operators, administrative authorities, and technical support organizations.

The Cybersecurity Division cooperates with key stakeholders in the field of cybersecurity at nuclear facilities: nuclear facility operators, the Government Information Security Office, which also includes Slovenian Government CERT (SIGOV-CERT) and Slovenian Computer Emergency Response Team (SI-CERT), the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of the Interior, the Police, and others.

In the international environment, the Slovenian Nuclear Safety Administration cooperates in the field of cybersecurity with the International Atomic Energy Agency, the European Nuclear Security Regulators Association (ENSRA), the Western European Nuclear Regulators Association (WENRA), the World Institute for Nuclear Security (WINS), the International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP), and with several individual countries (United States of America, Switzerland, Germany, Romania, Egypt, Nigeria, Ghana, etc.).
