Water Maintenance Office
Water Maintenance Office performs work and tasks in the field of water management, including the preservation and regulation of water quantities, protection against the harmful effects of water, maintenance of water and coastal lands, and care for the hydromorphological state of water. The implementation of these tasks includes both the implementation of construction and non-construction measures as well as the implementation of mandatory state economic public services in the field of water management in order to achieve the legally defined goals of water management.
The Office also cooperates with the Ministry in the preparation of acts, strategic decisions within the framework of administrative and other procedures, in the preparation of legal and by-laws in the field of water management, and with competent inspection services.
The work of the Office is organized in eight sectors, namely Upper Sava Area Division, Middle Sava Area Division, Lower Sava Area Division, Savinja Area Division, Drava Area Division, Mura Area Division, Soča Area Division and Adriatic Catchment and Sea Area Division.
