Joško Kadivnik was born in 1969, he holds university degree in law. He started his professional career in police forces, but soon joined the Slovenian Intelligence and Security Agency, since 2001 occupying various management positions,  among others as Deputy Director.

In the Agency Mr Kadivnik was mostly engaged in the field of operations, he is proficient in the counter-intelligence area and other security related issues. He has been intensively involved in various forms of international cooperation, both on bilateral and multilateral level.

He was appointed Acting Director of the Slovenian Intelligence and Security Agency by the Government of the Republic of Slovenia as of the 2 June 2022 and Director of the Agency as of the 2 December 2022.
