Marko Lovše
Marko Lovše, M. Sc., born on 24 March 1973, joined Administration of the Republic of Slovenia for Civil Protection and Disaster Relief in 2005 and spent more than ten years there in various roles in the fields of logistics, equipment, finance and public relations. During this time, he participated in various ways in all major rescue interventions on the territory of the Republic of Slovenia.
In 2018, he served as Public Relations Adviser to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia. He has gained management experience in various positions. From 2018 to 2020, he was Head of the Cabinet of the Minister of Finance, and then from 2020 to 2022, he held the post of Secretary in the General Secretariat of the Ministry of Finance. Until his appointment as Secretary of State on 22 November 2024, he was Secretary-General at the Ministry of Defence.
Marko Lovše holds a Master of Science degree in Communication Studies (Marketing Communication) and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy. Between 2019 and 2022, he was also a member of the Board of Directors of the Fund for the financing of the decommissioning of the Krško Nuclear Power Plant and the disposal of radioactive waste from the Krško Nuclear Power Plant.
He was appointed Secretary of State at the Ministry of Defence on 22 November 2024.
