Air Accident and Incident Investigation
The Unit investigates aircraft accidents, serious incidents and other incidents in civil aviation, and makes proposals for improving air transport safety. It reports on its work and advises the responsible minister and the Government.
Furthermore, accidents and incidents are reported to international organisations, and the Unit is part of the European Civil Aviation Conference's expert group on aircraft accident and incident investigation (ECAC – ACC). It participates in the European Network of Civil Aviation Safety Investigation Authorities (ENCASIA), cooperates with judicial and other authorities, and sits on various commissions. In addition, the Unit carries out preventive activities in the form of professional seminars.
